RICHMOND, VA—Authorities are searching for the driver of a motorcycle after he led police on an early morning chase.

Police attempted to stop the driver of a motorcycle just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday for erratic driving, when police said the driver refused to stop.

Police pursued the vehicle, but ended the pursuit due to poor weather conditions and high speeds.

The motorcycle was later found, crashed off of Forest Hill Ave., according to police.

Officers from Richmond and Chesterfield set up a perimeter around the area, but have not located the suspect.

Police with canine units continue to search for the suspect.

Buford Rd. was temporarily closed during the search.

A description of the suspect has not been released.
