Matthew L. Brengman M.D., F.A.C.S.

Special Medical Focus:  general, breast, bariatric, and laparoscopic surgery

Dr. Brengman received his medical degree from Cornell Medical College in
1993 and graduated in Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.  He completed a
5-year general surgery residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and a
1-year research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.  He is certified
in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Brengman has served as the assistant general surgery program director at
Walter Reed Army Medical Center and pioneered the practice of advanced
laparoscopic and laparoscopic bariatric surgery at Walter Reed.  Dr.
Brengman recently served with the 28th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad,
Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal
for his actions.
